Ch 2

Jessica enters the apartment
with April and sits at the kitchen table burying her head in her hands. Casey gets up and pours her a cup of coffee to calm
her down. She takes a sip of her coffee and sighs.
“I have the worst luck
with guys I swear. I came home from work and he was drunk again. I told him to go home and he tried to attack me again. I
grabbed one of my Chinese stars and stabbed him. Then he came after me and tried to kill me. April I’m so scared I don’t
know what to do anymore. I’m afraid to go back to my apartment because he has a key.”
Casey takes her hand and tells
her to stay with April and him tonight.
“Jessie I’m going
to change your locks on your apartment. Give me the key so I can pick up some stuff for you. Then I’ll get the keys
made for the new locks.”
April looks.
“No Casey let me go with
you I have to call you know who so he can stay here till we come back. Jon knows where I live he’ll attack her here;
look outside he’s watching my door. He sees us leave he’ll come after her tonight.”
He looks and sighs.
“Ok April but make it
fast. The store closes at 10pm
and it’s already 9:15pm.”
She takes out her shell cell
and tries to call Leo. But Casey hears it ringing and looks at Jessica.
“Jessie where’d
you find that cell? Ok I guess it’s time you know the truth; the shell cell you have is Leo’s.”
She looks up and sighs.
“Yea I figured that out
its blue inside like his head band. That’s why I didn’t answer it. You’re not mad at me are you; I didn’t
know what else to do with it.”
“No of course not. I’ll
call Raph and he’ll get Leo. Don’t worry about it ok. Just go sit down and make yourself comfortable.”
“Ok Casey I’m sorry.”
He takes out his shell cell
and dials Raph’s.
Raph hears it ringing and looks
up and grabs for it by his night stand.
‘Who the shell is calling
me at 9pm?
I’m so tired and don’t want to talk.’
He answers.
“Yo Casey what’s
up? Why didn’t you call Leo’s he’s the only one up right now you woke me up.”
“Raph I’m sorry
but I need to talk to Leo and can’t seem to reach him right now.”
He looks and goes into Leo’s
room.
“Umm Leo someone wants
to talk to you. He said he can’t get you on your shell cell mind explaining?”
Leo looks up from his book.
“I dropped it by the
office. Sue me. I’m the leader but not perfect you know.”
“Oh really by any chance
do you have any idea who could’ve picked it up well?”
Leo glares.
“Ok you need to stop.
I’m older than you don’t you start bossing me around understand. I know who has it but when we left April’s
the individual was upset. I’ll get it tomorrow night now if you don’t mind can I use yours so I can see what Casey
wants?”
“Fine here Leo just don’t
lose mine.”
“Yea whatever Raph just
go back to bed and mind your own business. I’ll leave it on your nightstand gees.”
He takes it and answers.
“Yo Casey wuz ^?”
“Well besides Jessica
having your shell cell not much. But enough about that can you get your self over here? April and I have to go by Jessica’s
so we can change her locks and her ex b/f is outside watching the house just waiting for Jessica to come out so he can kill
her.”
“Kill her but why?”
“Umm I’ll explain
when you get here Leo please hurry.”
“Ok I’m coming
just calm down Casey.”
Casey sighs with relief and
goes out front to wait for Leo to arrive.
Leo looks and grabs his katana
and disappears out the lair after leaving Raph’s shell cell on his night stand.
Leo uses the shadows and sees
Jon watching the apartment and glares at him.
“You are still looking
for trouble punk?”
He looks behind and sees two white slits and goes to investigate.
Leo grabs him and flips him
on his back and holds the katana at his neck.
“Listen to me now! That
girl happens to be a close friend of ours and if you try to harm her again I’ll personally hurt you!”
Jon looks up and stabs him
with a knife and he falls.
Jessica looks out the window
and runs out to help him grabbing her katana.
‘Oh no Leo. You two go
on I’ll go help him. That bastard just stabbed him! I’m going to hurt him.’
Casey looks and sighs.
“Jessie have you lost
your mind he’ll kill you. Leo can handle himself don’t do this.”
She looks.
“Casey I’m a ninja
just like him don’t worry about me I’ll be fine just hurry and get to the store before it closes.”
They watch as she heads out
side and kicks Jon into the wall. She holds her katana at his neck and he gulps.
“Jessie don’t kill
me please! I didn’t know that green freak was a friend of yours! About earlier I’m sorry for drinking.”
She glares at him and lifts
her katana from his neck. Leo sees him lunge at her and yells.
“Behind you he has a
knife! Turn around Jessica now!”
She turns and blocks the knife
and knocks it out of his hand and breaks his arm.
“Don’t mess with
a female ninja you understand now Scram? I’m as skilled as he is and if I was you I’d run before my katana slits
your throat.”
He gets up and runs holding
his arm.
She resheathes her katana and
helps Leo up.
“I can’t believe
this I’m helping my favorite cartoon character. Leo come on I got you.”
He looks up and sighs.
“No its ok I can get
up myself are you ok Jessica?”
“Yea I’m fine what
about you?”
“I’ll be fine come
on let’s get inside April’s apartment before he returns with the others and he stabbed my right arm. My main arm
I use with my swords when I fight.”
She follows him inside and
tells him to sit while she gets something to clean out the wound and wrap it.
He sits on the couch and sighs.
She enters the bathroom and
gets peroxide to clean out the wound and some bandages to wrap it to stop the bleeding.
He sees her coming and just
looks.
She sits next to him and takes
a cotton ball and cleans the wound and little specs of metal come onto the cotton ball. She throws that one away and wipes
it with a clean one two times. She cuts the gauze pad and covers it. Then she uses a few bandages to wrap it tight to stop
the bleeding.
“Thanks Jessica. So what
was the deal with that jerk anyway?”
She just sighs.
“Not much except he’s
my ex boyfriend as of tonight. I tend to have bad luck with guys I date.”
He looks up and smiles.
“Don’t say that.
You just haven’t found the right guy to be with yet.”
She looks.
“Yea sure I’m 24
and every guy I dated ended up being a jerk. I guess I’m just bound to be lonely.”
She stares in his eyes through
his headband and smiles.
“So my child hood hero
is actually real. I can’t believe it I still think I’m dreaming. Besides working on the new series with Kevin
and Peter meeting you really makes me feel a little better I guess.”
He looks up and stays silent.
She also looks at him and stays silent for a while.
He looks over at the DVD cover.
“Oh man that’ll
bring back a lot of memories of my teenage years.”
She exits and enters the kitchen
and sits down at the table and sighs.
‘Ok Jessie you’re
falling in love with a mutant turtle you mimicked when you were a little girl. But you’re also forgetting you’re
younger than he is. Besides you are so different from him.’
Leo enters the kitchen and
looks at her and smiles.
She realizes he’s standing
there and just stares at him and then puts her head back down and sighs.
Leo looks over by her and goes
to the fridge to get something to drink.
“Jessica do you want
something to drink or eat? I was about to make some pizza.”
She looks up and nods. Then
she goes into the living room and puts on the DVD.
He watches from the bar and
keeps on staring at Jessica sitting on the couch and sighs.
‘Not again. I’m
falling in love with a human it just never fails.’
Then he sits down at the kitchen
table and drinks his water while he watches the microwave timer.
Jessica pauses the DVD and
enters the kitchen.
“Umm Leo I think this
belongs to you. I found it at the office and picked it up.”
He looks up from his water
and she walks by him to hand it to him.
“Thanks Jessica.”
“You’re welcome
Leo. You know you can call me Jessie it’s my nick name all my friends do?”
She hears the timer go off
and looks at him.
“Umm Leo the pizza is
done. Do you want another glass of water to go with it?”
“Yea sure that sounds
good thanks again.”
She pours him another glass
of water and sits across from him and eats her pizza. He looks up from his pizza and then back down at his water.
After they finish eating she
takes the dishes and cleans them. He goes by her and dries them off and puts them in the cupboard. She looks to thank him
and their lips meet.
He looks and backs away. Then
he stares in her eyes again and their lips meet once again but this time he embraces her and she also embraces him and smiles.
They enter the living room
and sit on the couch and she hits the DVD back on and rests her head on his shoulder and he puts his arm behind her. With
his other hand he strokes her forehead gently and she falls asleep on him holding him close. He lays down and falls asleep.
She wakes up and realizes he was fast asleep and turns off the DVD. Then she falls asleep next to him and he holds her close.
April and Casey come back and
see them asleep on the couch and stay silent. April covers them with a light sheet and her and Casey head to bed.
