Jessica sits on her bed watching her Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtles classics and sighs.
‘I miss them so much even though I’m all grown
up now and in college.’
She looks at her clock.
‘Awe man here I go off to work. I hate the real world
so much.’
She turns off her DVD and takes her shower. When she gets
out she gets herself ready for work. She makes her bed and puts her DVD back on the shelf and heads out to her car making
sure she doesn’t forget her sketchbook.
She reads the address while she’s at a red light.
‘Oh ok its Mirage Studios where Kevin and Peter work.
Why would they hire me? Oh well here goes nothing.’
She hits her alarm on the car and heads inside and takes
the elevator. When she gets out Peter greets her by shaking her hand.
“Welcome to the team and follow me to your office.”
“My own office are you serious? I only dreamed about
working with the two best creators of all time.”
He looks and smiles.
“Thanks for noticing we were sad when the turtles were
cancelled too. We worked so hard and they went on for so long but that was then and this is now. I’ll show you what
I mean just make yourself comfortable we’ll be right in.”
“Oh thanks Mr. Laird.”
“No call me Peter; Jessica you are part of the team
now no one goes by their last names.”
“Oh well then call me Jessie for short. I’ll
get right to work on the scenes you gave me to draw.”
“Ok then I’ll come in and check on you after
Kevin and I finish with the storyboard for the 1st episode of the new series.”
She takes off her jacket and reads her notes that Peter left
for her and gets to work. Behind her Leo and his brothers are watching from the shadows. Mike keeps on staring at her.
“Ooh Leo she’s a babe. I remember her from when
she was like 10? Now she’s so pretty.”
Leo also stares.
“Yea I know tell me about it. By the way she was 12
not 10. Be quiet we can’t reveal ourselves to her just yet.”
Jessica hears voices and looks by the shadows and can see
nothing. She turns back around to her desk and finishes drawing the scenes the way she thinks they should be according to
Peter’s notes. Her cell rings and she answers.
“Hey April how’s everything? You won’t
believe where I’m working. I still think I’m dreaming. I’m part of Mirage Studios creating the new series
of TMNT.”
“Oh really wow congratulations. See I told you that
your drawings would get you far and look I was right. So what do I look like in the new series?”
She looks and reads a few notes.
“You’re not a reporter instead you’re an
assistant to a scientist that works for Shredder.”
“Oh ok that’s new to me. Anyway come see me by
the shop tomorrow my cell is dying. We’ll talk more tomorrow.”
Jessica looks.
“Wait are you saying that the April in the classics
is really you? That means that the turtles are real no way. April are they real or not?”
She looks at Casey.
“Oh man now what do I do? Me and my big mouth like
usual.”
Leo gulps and comes out from hiding and calls April’s
shell cell.
“April you weren’t supposed to tell her yet.
Now I have no choice but to reveal myself to her man Peter and Kevin are going to kill me.”
Casey shrugs.
“Nice one babe. Now she might just freak out on him.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to I just wanted
to know what I look like in the new series? That’s all nothing else.”
Leo sighs.
“Don’t worry I’ll figure something out
just try not to mention us to her again? All right April; Leo out see you tomorrow night.”
Jessica realizes she lost
April and just sighs and gets back to work.
‘I was hearing things there’s no way that is
really April in the cartoons. She’s like 33 now. Wait a minute she is 33 now and then April was 24.’
She looks at her cell and sees she has no battery left and
just sighs.
Leo looks and sighs with relief and looks at his brothers.
“Whoa that was close come on you 3 we need to go now.
Peter and Kevin are coming let’s vanish now.”
Raph looks and sighs.
“Yea you’re right I can hear them coming; umm
can you stop staring at her Leo before we get caught please. In a month you can reveal yourself to her. What are you in love
with her or something? Not again what happened with Lotus come on Leo.”
Leo looks.
“What about Lotus? I was a 15 ½ year old then. Hello
she was like 21.”
Mike laughs.
“Yea you and her were inseperatable. It made me jealous
seeing you two kissing and hugging.”
Don looks.
“Oh man here we go again can we leave now? You two
aren’t teenagers anymore you’re 24 start acting like it huh.”
Leo looks.
“What we kissed once and when we did her spirit floated
into the urn. We never became a couple she was too old for me. We were friends nothing else.”
Raph looks.
“Actually no you and her were a couple Leo stop denying
it. You literally broke down when her spirit floated away we all saw it. So you are in love with Jessica it’s no big
deal really. We still can’t reveal ourselves to her for a month Leo we need to go now.”
He looks at Raph.
“Yea you’re right let’s get back to the
lair. Before we all get in big trouble. Time to disappear bros.”
They all disappear out the window and toward the lair using
the shadows.
Jessica hears a van pull away and runs to the window and
sees the battle shell speeding down the street. She looks down and sees a shell cell and scratches her head.
‘Where’d this come from? It looks like April’s
turtle com but updated. Oh ok my mind is definitely playing tricks on me.’
She opens it and sees it’s blue inside and looks at
her drawing of Leo and compares the blue to his head band.
‘Ok now this is really weird. Could they really exist
or does someone just have a weird shape cell phone? Anyway here comes Peter I’ll talk to April tomorrow.’
She takes it and puts it in her back pack and puts her scenes
from Episode 1 in a pile on her desk.
Peter enters and looks at her.
“So how’d you do so far?”
She looks up and hands him the portfolio.
“I tried the best I could to get it exactly how you
wrote it Peter. It’s good that today’s generation can experience what mine did from 87-1994. Maybe they’ll
gain popularity like they did when I was younger. But what I never understood was Leo’s relation to Lotus? I mean she
was 21 and he was 15 ½.”
Peter laughs.
“Oh ask Kevin about that it was his idea to bring her
in. I only drew Leonardo.”
Kevin enters.
“You wanted to know what Leo’s relation to Lotus
was well here. I’ll give you this copy of Volume 5 with all the episodes with Lotus in them and if you still can’t
figure it out I’ll explain it to you ok Jessie.”
Jessica looks.
“Huh but Volume 5 doesn’t come out for another
month or two.”
He smiles.
“No problem you work for us now you get them before
they are released. You also get to keep them. Besides later in the series we’ll be adding a new character and I promise
you’ll be surprised. Well Jessie it’s nearly 8pm we are closing up for the night. Report to work at about
4pm tomorrow and we’ll work on the other episodes for
season 1. It launches in a month we already have 4 seasons written but they need to be animated and organized we have a lot
to do in this office.”
She smiles and nods.
“Wow lucky for me I’m an artist and also take
computer graphic design in college. I got my work cut out for me don’t I?”
“Yea you do but we are working as a team. So you’re
not alone.”
She exits and gets in her car then heads home. She locks
her car and opens her apartment door. When she arrives she sees Jon on the couch waiting.
“It’s our year anniversary don’t you believe
in calling your boyfriend huh Jessie?”
She realizes he’s drunk and moves away from him.
“Don’t you dare come by me I told you about your
drinking damn it. Didn’t I say if you didn’t stop we would be over well did I or not Jon?”
“Yea you did but you said that so many times and we
still stayed together. So I decided to get stoned so we could make love tonight.”
“Oh no way in hell am I doing that with a drunk. I
warned you and I meant what I said. So leave now we’re over you understand Jon?”
He looks at her with anger and attacks her pushing her to
the couch.
“Now you shut up and make love to me or I swear I’ll
kill you Jessica! I’m tired of waiting for you to be ready I am a man and have my needs! Since you won’t do it
willingly I’ll help you get to that point if I have to force you! Now shut up and give me what I want!”
She takes out a Chinese star and stabs him as he comes down
on her.
“Oh did I forget to mention I’m a ninja? Well
if I did I’m sorry now you better get some medical attention before you bleed to death!”
He lunges at her again and she runs out the door and to April’s
at top speed in her car.
April and the guys are drinking coffee when she sees Jessica
pull up and in tears. Casey looks outside also and realizes it to.
“Oh man he tried to attack her again. This is about
the 7th time he tried oh man. Leo you 4 need to vanish remember you can’t reveal yourselves to her for a
month.”
Leo sees Jessica in tears and looks.
“Casey I can’t just stand here and see her in
tears like that. Ever since the 1st day I saw her in the shop with April I fell in love with her.”
“Yea but Leo she has no idea you 4 are real. What makes
you so sure she won’t freak out on you if she sees you?”
He exits with his brothers and heads to the lair with them.
They all turn in and Leo takes off his belt and realizes
he lost his shell cell.
‘Oh man I lost my shell cell. Just great Don is going
to kill me if he finds out. Where could I have dropped it? I called April while we were watching Jessica. Oh man I left it
there.’
He sneaks in Raph’s room and takes his shell cell and
calls Peter.
“Umm Peter did you happen to find a shell cell in the
office?”
“No Leo why would I? Did you lose yours by any chance?”
“Umm yea I did and the last place I had it was at the
office I got home and it was gone.”
“Well then that means Jessica knows you’re real
you have no choice but to reveal yourself to her and just you none of your brothers yet understand not for a month understand.”
“Yes I understand I’ll get it from her tomorrow
right now she’s upset. I’m the last thing she wants to see believe me.”
“Actually maybe seeing you will cheer her up go by
April’s and see what happens.”
“Ok then I will Leo out.”
He puts Raph’s shell cell back on his dresser and decides
to wait till tomorrow to go see Jessica. Leo falls asleep in his room as soon as he hits the bed.
